Mission and Vision

Greetings and welcome to the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies! For the last 20 years, we have been preparing educational leaders to work effectively in ethnically, racially, socially, and linguistically diverse educational environments. Our graduates transform school and university/college settings as they lead to social justice. The department offers graduate programs for leaders in Pre-K thru 12th grade and college and university settings.

The department offers transformational leadership programs as well as off-campus cohorts with SAISD, Northside ISD, North East ISD, Edgewood ISD, the Wintergarden Region, and the Alamo Colleges. Through these partnerships, students have the opportunity to apply leadership theories and practices in real-world settings.

Many of our critical faculty members are first-generation college graduates, and we offer a multitude of research opportunities for our graduate students.
