Janet Solis Rodriguez, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor at the University of Texas at San Antonio. Her research focuses on educator preparation and development across the career span and seeks to understand how organizational structures and mechanisms can be strengthened to sustain improvements in educator quality, professional learning, and long-term outcomes. Her research sits at the intersection of educational practice and policy, focusing on supporting school and system leaders in organizational improvement efforts. Solis Rodriguez has worked in education policy across P-16 contexts. Her experiences as a practitioner continue to motivate her commitment to sustainable improvements in educator preparation and development systems to enhance students’ educational experiences and opportunities. She was a middle school math teacher, teacher mentor, district curriculum specialist, and a liaison and analyst for the Texas Education Agency. Most recently, she served as a quantitative data scientist for the Texas Education Research Center and as a quantitative social network researcher for the Texas Teacher Turnover Project. Solis Rodriguez holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy, a Master’s in Quantitative Methods, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theater Education from The University of Texas at Austin. She specializes in quantitative research methods, including program evaluation, causal inference, experimental design, social network analysis, and surveys, and the analysis of national, state, and local datasets.
