The Department of Bicultural-Bilingual Studies/Race, Ethnicity, Gender and Sexuality Studies offers degrees and programs at all three levels of study: undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral. Our three undergraduate degrees include African American Studies, Mexican American Studies, and Women’s, Gender & Sexuality Studies. Our master’s degrees are in the areas of Bilingual Education and Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL). In addition, we offer coursework that leads to teacher certification and opportunities for advanced study and research leading to the Doctor of Philosophy degree in Culture, Literacy, and Language. The department also offers six different graduate certificates.
