National Association for Chicana and Chicano Studies

For one UT San Antonio student, a class assignment rooted in family, identity and healing became an award-winning piece of scholarship that affirmed her future in academia. Mexican American Studies student Abril “Andi” Garcia-Linn received top honors in the National Association for Chicana and Chicano Studies (NACCS) Fredrick Cervantes Premio essay competition, in the undergraduate category.

Mission

COEHD will be an international model for developing transformative leaders guided by principles of community, integrity, excellence, scholarship and service. The COEHD will have a critical impact on the realization of human and community potential through its leadership in education, health and wellness, human development and policy studies. All programs of study include a focus on developing competencies for working effectively in multicultural and cross-national contexts.
