The mission of UEI is to provide equity-focused and impactful research, evaluation, and training in collaboration with community-based research-practice-policy partnerships on issues that inform and influence educational and workforce-related policies, experiences, and outcomes.
As a university-based research hub we strive to provide evidence-based solutions to help address problems facing our education and workforce ecosystem. We work in partnership with community stakeholders to identify, monitor and evaluate programmatic practices and outcomes.
Our team includes a growing number of experts who are deeply committed to exploring critical issues at the intersection of education and workforce dynamics. This multidisciplinary group comprises experts in educational psychology, leadership and policy, and economics, each bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience.
Our past and existing partnerships have been instrumental in shaping key decision-making processes. These collaborations have provided critical insights and expertise, enhancing our ability to address complex issues effectively. By leveraging diverse perspectives and specialized knowledge from our partners, we craft strategies that are both innovative and practical, ensuring decisions are well-rounded and considerate of various stakeholder interests.
In February 2024, UEI participated in UTSA’s College of Education and Human Development’s 16th Annual Research Colloquium. Our graduate research assistants presented a poster that summarized the study design and findings from our research partnership with the City of San Antonio’s Ready to Work program. They focused on Ready to Work participants’ expectations of the program compared to their lived experiences. This was a great opportunity for our student researchers to interact with peers, faculty, and staff while improving their research communication skills.
Do you find yourself conducting formative evaluations and utilizing data to improve program outcomes? Are you ready to establish yourself as an applied research professional? If so, UTSA’s Certificate in Program Evaluation and Applied Research (PEAR) could be the right path for you!
