Services vary by semester and are based on student clinician availability, training needs, available supervisors, and community demand. The PACC also functions on a ‘part-time’ basis, so service appointments are limited.
Individual therapy provides a personalized and confidential space for individuals to address their concerns, overcome obstacles, and achieve personal growth. Clients in individual therapy will be seen by doctoral-level school psychology student clinicians. Individual therapy sessions are typically scheduled on a weekly or bi-weekly basis and last about 45-50 minutes per appointment.
At this time, our individual therapy services are ‘short-term’ (8-12 sessions, on average) and are based on highly structured, evidence-based therapy programs addressing specific issues. For children/adolescents, we serve clients from age 10 to 18, and parents/guardians/caregivers may be heavily involved in treatment, depending on the referral concern.
