Eligibility

  • Undergraduate major in a STEM discipline
  • Interest in secondary science or mathematics teacher certification
  • Strong academic standing
  • Commitment to teach two years in a high-needs school district after program completion

 

What you’ll receive

  • $20,000 in scholarship funds distributed across two academic years
  • Faculty/peer mentorship, summer institute, 3 workshops each semester
  • Funded travel to professional STEM education conferences

  • Two-page essay (PDF/Word) addressing: Why you want to become a STEM teacher
  • How you will contribute to the Noyce community (leadership, research, service, etc.)
  • Your commitment to teaching in high-needs schools
  • How this opportunity aligns with your professional goals

 

Selection process

  • Applications reviewed by UT San Antonio faculty from COS and COEHD
  • Evaluation based on academic achievement, financial need, alignment to goals, and desire to work with students in high-needs communities
  • Top applicants invited to interview with the project team and faculty
