This grant is for College of Education and Human Development (COEHD) graduate students seeking to attend virtual or in-person professional conferences for the purpose of presenting original papers and/or research during the academic year are eligible for consideration. Students may be reimbursed up to $750.00 after the return of the trip and submission of required receipts.


Award Amount 

The COEHD Dean’s Grant will award funds up to a maximum amount of $750. 

 

Eligibility 

Graduate students applying for this award must be in good academic standing and enrolled in a minimum of 3 course credit hours during the semester when funds will be used. Please note that no more than three student authors on one project or presentation can be eligible to receive this award. Students may only receive one COEHD Dean’s Graduate Research Travel Grant award per academic school year.  

 

Application Process 

To apply for this award, graduate students may visit and complete the DocuSign application.  

Within the application, students will be directed to: 

  • Enter their name, contact information, UTSA Sponsor name, and UTSA Sponsor contact information 
  • Complete and sign the two-page award application 
  • Required attachments include the following: 
  • Student Travel Itinerary (A day-to-day breakdown of travel) 
  • Conference Information (Confirmation of paper presentation, conference program, etc.) 
  • Statement of Benefits (One page summary of research and benefits of attending conference for successful completion of degree) 
  • Complete and sign the Student Travel: Request for Authorization Form 
  • Complete and sign the UTSA Release and Indemnification Agreement 
  • Complete the List of Student Participants, Emergency Contacts and Activity/Event Leaders form 

 

Deadlines 

Graduate students should submit their applications by the following deadlines: 

  • Fall Semester Submission: September 1st, November 1st 
  • Spring Semester Submission: February 1st; April 1st 
  • Summer Semester Submission: July 1st 

Please allow 30 days past the semester deadline(s) for application review and decision.  

 

Award Disbursement 

The COEHD Dean’s Graduate Research grant comes in the form of a reimbursement for student travel expenses. After students are notified of their award, receipts can be submitted to Cinnamon Schulze (cinnamon.schulze@utsa.edu) for review and processing.
