Russell Lang is a Regents’ Professor in the Department of Educational Psychology at the University of Texas at San Antonio, where he teaches in the Master of Science in Behavior Analysis program. His research focuses on evidence-based assessment and intervention for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, emphasizing play, communication, adaptive skills, and quality of life. He collaborates with UTSA’s Brain Health Consortium on research involving rare genetic disorders, individualized behavioral measurement, and interventions embedded in everyday activities. He also examines the scientific and ethical foundations of communication interventions. He has published more than 200 journal articles and book chapters and coauthored or coedited five books, including Lifespan Treatment for Autistic Individuals: A Guide to Evidence-Based Practices (Oxford University Press, 2025). His editorial leadership includes former editorships of Advances in Neurodevelopmental Disorders, Evidence-Based Communication Assessment and Intervention, and Developmental Neurorehabilitation, as well as associate editorships of the Journal of Developmental and Physical Disabilities and the Journal of Child and Family Studies.
