The West Side Sound Oral History Project presents a Film by Chuco Garcia, You've Succeeded: The Life & Times of Dimas Garza
Through oral history interviews, this film by Chuco Garcia - the only existing documentary on West Side Sound/San Antonio legend Dimas Garza - documents and preserves the contributions of local musicians to Chicana/o/x soul music. Following the film, there will be a panel featuring local community archivists and music historians such as Jesus V. Garcia, Rae Cabello, Juan Mendoza, and the West Side Sound Oral History Project Board (Kat Delgadillo, Chuco Garcia, Rambo Salinas, Sylvia Mendoza, and Gloria Gonzales) on the importance of documenting our local music histories. Light refreshments will be provided by Sweet Chela's.
