You are invited to attend and submit a proposal to present at the 26th Annual Texas Language Education Research (TexLER) Conference, which will have in-person and pre-recorded sessions. The theme of this year’s TexLER 2025 Conference is, "Reclaiming Community Narratives in the 21st Century." The keynote speakers for this year's conference are Ellen Riojas Clark, Ph.D., professor emerita of the Department of Bicultural-Bilingual Studies and Isabel Martinez, Ph.D., Ellen Riojas Clark Endowed Chair of the Department of Bilcultural-Bilingual Studies at UTSA.
Faculty, staff, and students are invited to submit proposals for presentations that align with this year’s theme by August 30, 2025 and any other conference research strands that can be found on the TexLER website and below.
Submissions that address (but are not limited to) the following topics are welcomed:
- Language ideologies and their influence on educational policy and classroom practice
- Histories and legacies of linguistic marginalization
- Storytelling, oral traditions, and multimodal literacies in community contexts
- Archival resistance and community-based counter-histories
- Language and literacy education as a site of critical consciousness and transformation
- Ethnographic, critical, or participatory approaches to documenting community narratives
- The role of educators and researchers in co-constructing inclusive educational futures
Presentations may take the form of research papers, roundtable discussions, creative multimedia storytelling, pedagogical reflections, or community-engaged projects.
Conference Registration:
Register for the conference by October 10 to ensure access to all presentations, networking events, and award announcements. Presenters, please register by October 1 to ensure proper representation in our program.
