"Since I was a young boy I was always the teacher's pet who would ask to help the teacher with anything rather than going to play or have free time! Teaching has always been my calling!”
Why did you choose UTSA?
I chose UTSA because of its diversity and friendly and welcoming campus! Especially since it is a Hispanic Serving institution, I felt a sense of belonging, which played a huge role in fostering my education!
What was your favorite class and/or who was your favorite professor? Why?
My favorite class was Child Development with Dr. Charlotte Hern! She made the drive to UTSA Downtown Campus worth it! Her class was very well-paced and she taught us the ins and outs of working with children, especially at the early childhood stages we were able to bond with her and she took pride in her future educators! We were able to volunteer and have school visits through her class!
What is your fondest memory of your experience at UTSA?
Bestfest and Dia en la Sombrilla, these festivals were so much fun to not only attend but to also volunteer at! These were such a fond memory because we were all able to mingle as students and members of the community!
What professional experiences or opportunities did you accomplish at UTSA?
What are your plans for the future and/or your career?
Finish certification In EC-6 Core Subjects and Family and Consumer Sciences and teach with Northside Independent School District.
What has brought you inspiration during this time? I.E. Music, books, public figures, etc.
My family and friends but most importantly the teachers I have had have truly shown me how rewarding teaching is and who helped me find my calling.
