"I was born and raised in San Antonio and I have always had a love for kids. I decided I wanted to become an educator after going through the Human Services Practicum at Judson High School. I transferred to UTSA in Fall 2020, joined a sorority, and now I am becoming a 3rd-grade teacher!"


Why did you choose UTSA?

Because of the community and diversity.

 

What was your favorite class and/or who was your favorite professor? Why?

Dr. Farias, my clinical teacher supervisor!

  

What would you say is the most important thing you’ve learned over the course of your studies?

The importance of each student and their diverse needs.

 

Describe any professional experiences, research, organizations, or internship opportunities you've had at your time at UTSA. What did you learn from these opportunities?

I was apart of Gamma Phi Beta and held multiple officer positions including two exec positions - Vice President and President. I was also able to service our philanthropy Building Strong Girls and actively participated in our philanthropic partner Girls on the Run!

 

What is your fondest memory of your experience at UTSA?

Meeting all my teacher besties in my courses and joining my sorority!

What are your plans for the future and/or career?

To be a 3rd grade teacher!

 

What has brought you inspiration during this time? I.E. Music, books, public figures, etc.

The need for educators in our society.
