Degree:   B.A. Interdisciplinary Studies

Hometown:   Brunswick,Maine

"I started at UTSA back in the summer of 2010 and since then I have started a family and when the pandemic hit I decided to go back to school. I have a 2 year old and a 5 month old. Even with so much time in between I knew I wanted to pursue a degree. This has been such a difficult and fulfilling time and I plan to get certified and teach EC-6! "

Why did you choose UTSA?

I started here and I wanted to finish where I started.

What was your favorite class and/or who was your favorite professor? Why?

Charlotte Hern, she understood that life happens and was always so incredibly engaging. I took her twice and loved it!

What would you say is the most important thing you’ve learned over the course of your studies?

How to have an inclusive classroom.

What is your fondest memory of your experience at UTSA?
I met my husband on campus. We were both RA’s.

What are your plans for the future and/or your career?
I would love to continue on to Graduate school and focus on getting my teaching certification.

What has brought you inspiration during this time?

My family’s support, books and crafting!
