The UTSA Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies and The Urban School Leaders Collaborative present the 6th Annual Freire Institute with Keynote Speaker Dr. Gloria Ladson-Billings.
Dr. Ladson-Billings, professor emerita in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, an international scholar whose work on culturally relevant pedagogy and critical race theory has altered how educators approach their teaching.
Guest speakers include Shelly Lares, UTSA Artist-in-Residence; Marisa Perez-Diaz, SBOE Member; Dr. Rotunda Floyd-Cooper, Wallace Vice President; Bernadette Peña, Nuestra Gente; and Dr. Sharon Dixon, San Antonio ISD.
Convening begins at 1 p.m. on June 25 in the H-E-B Student Union Ballroom on the Main Campus. Complimentary self-parking will be availble in the Brackenridge Avenue Lot 1. Register for the event here.
