Ramón Hernández is a veteran Tejano music writer and promoter who witnessed firsthand Selena's rise to fame. In addition to documenting her early career, he also shot the photographs that appear on seven of Selena's album covers.
Sonya Alemán, Ph. D., is an associate professor in the Race, Ethnicity, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Department and Mexican American Studies Program at the University of Texas at San Antonio. She developed and teaches Texas's first course on the life and career of Selena.
