Description
In this workshop, Sylvia Mendoza, Assistant Professor of Mexican American Studies at UTSA, will share some history about and examples of feminist oral history projects. Feminist oral history projects use storytelling to document and preserve the contributions, experiences, knowledge, and memories of women, youth, and queer communities.
We warmly invite community members to participate in an enriching series of workshops focused on community archives! This program will explore essential topics such as research ethical practices, oral history methodologies, multilingual context, digital preservation, and the design and development of digital archives. Whether you're a community archivist or just starting your journey, these workshops offer valuable insights and hands-on experience to enhance your skills. Join us to connect with fellow community members, share your stories, and help preserve our collective heritage for future generations. Your voice matters—let’s archive it together! All events will be in the Esperanza Peace and Justice Center. The series is limited to 20 participants. Those who register and complete the 5 workshops during Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 will receive a gift card.
