Bio
Elisa Serrano is a postdoctoral fellow at the Urban Education Institute. She earned her Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Language, Culture, and Society from The Pennsylvania State University. Her research and teaching focus on multilingual learners, educational equity, and identity in schooling. Elisa’s work bridges research and policy to advocate for culturally and linguistically sustaining practices in education. She has contributed to national publications and collaborative research initiatives centered on equity in language instruction, and she brings experience as both a researcher and educator in K–12 and higher education contexts.
