Community Partnerships

Under the leadership of Dean Mario Torres, the College of Education and Human Development is committed to preparing educators, researchers, and leaders to respond to existing challenges in education. We do this by advancing equity and eliminating disparities, through culturally relevant practices and interventions. In COEHD, we engage in deep interdisciplinary work in how we prepare students, how we conduct cutting-edge research, and how we leverage our strengths to maximize the impact of our collaborations.

We respect the cultural richness of the home and the community we share. We respond comprehensively to individual needs and seek to understand and build on existing strengths within families and communities to improve educational outcomes.

As part of this commitment, COEHD coordinates instructional outreach and pipeline programs including UTSA's Dual Credit Program, TRIO Educational Talent Search, and the Upward Bound Program.

COEHD Scholarships

Local partnerships help our students learn and grow within the San Antonio community through hands-on training and unique experiences. Scholarships are imperative to helping COEHD students achieve their success within our community partnerships. The college has embarked on an innovative plan to enable the college to take bold steps in scholarship.
