Democratizing Racial Justice (DRJ), a research and creative scholarship project in San Antonio, has announced ten artists who will be participating in the inaugural year of its artist residency program.

As we bid farewell to February, the closing chapter of another impactful Black History Month, a sense of reflection and pride fills the air. This special month holds a unique place in the hearts of many. As a young, Black female historian and lecturer in African American Studies, I've been privileged to witness the commemoration of Black individuals' rich and diverse history during this time. It's a moment for assessing the progress made and acknowledging the work that lies ahead.

DRJ announces the 10 Artists in Residence for 2024

The UTSA Democratizing Racial Justice (DRJ) Project is hosting a panel discussion on oppressive conditions in the workplace from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, April 16, in the Buena Vista Street Building Theater (BVB 1.326) at the UTSA Downtown Campus. The event, Workers on the Rise: The State of Labor in San Antonio, is free and open to the public. Advanced registration is required.

UTSA has been awarded a three-year, $5 million grant from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation to support the university’s community partnerships in advancing racial justice.
