This special month holds a unique place in the hearts of many. As a young, Black female historian and lecturer in African American Studies, I've been privileged to witness the commemoration of Black individuals' rich and diverse history during this time. It's a moment for assessing the progress made and acknowledging the work that lies ahead.

The UTSA Democratizing Racial Justice (DRJ) Project is hosting a panel discussion on oppressive conditions in the workplace from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, April 16, in the Buena Vista Street Building Theater (BVB 1.326) at the UTSA Downtown Campus. The event, Workers on the Rise: The State of Labor in San Antonio, is free and open to the public. Advanced registration is required.
