Hometown:  San Antonio, Texas

"I am from Lima, Peru, but I've been living in the States for over 15 years. I love spending time with my family, going to the gym, and dancing. I became a teacher to have a positive impact on the academic life of a child, and to help students reach their full potential."

Why did you choose UTSA?

I chose UTSA because I believe that this institution has the best faculty;thus I would get the best educator preparation program.

What was your favorite class and/or who was your favorite professor? Why?

There were several professors that have made a lasting impact on educator preparation. I thank them all for having the heart of a teacher. Professors Helyde Torres, Lynda Cavazos, Marissa Munoz, Gilberto Lara, Bekisizwe Ndimande, Thomas Porter, etc. Thank you all!

What would you say is the most important thing you’ve learned over the course of your studies?

I've learned to apply myself to everything I do. To work with integrity and excellence. I learned to respect and value my languages and my student's languages.
