COEHD Learning Labs
The Learning Labs is part of the College of Education and Human Development and serves students, faculty, and staff. We currently have two locations, one at the Downtown Campus and at Main Campus.
Mission
Our Mission is to provide computing services and support to the COEHD community. Our goal is to enhance their learning experience through technology, enabling them to acquire the skills to develop the knowledge essential for a profound academic experience.

COEHD Learning Labs provides many resources that include cutting-edge technology and certified MCAS master personnel. We are dedicated and knowledgeable with hardware and software that will provide the assistance you need for academic success. Student Services
Students must be enrolled in at least one COEHD course for the current semester to enjoy our services. We have Dell desktops and laptops available to use in the Learning Lab. Student IDs are required to use a laptop.

COEHD Equipment Loaner (CEL) Program
About COEHD Equipment Loaner (CEL) Program
The CEL Program is a check-out service that is provided by the college through COEHD Learning Labs for registered COEHD majors. COEHD students must meet set criteria in order to be eligible for check out. The loan period is for the current semester.
Limited quantity!
To ensure enough laptops and iPads are available for all students, each person is limited to one checkout at a time.
- Undergraduates may choose between iPad or Dell.
- Graduates/Ph.D/Fellows may choose between iPad, Dell, or a Macbook.
Equipment
COEHD Labs offers laptops (Dell and Macbooks) and iPads for check-out.
Software
COEHD Labs can install specialized software on CEL laptops such as:
- MS Office
- NViVo
- SPSS
CEL Eligibility
COEHD Majors must meet the following criteria:
- Must be a COEHD Undergrad (Junior/Senior), Grad, or Ph.D. student.
- Declared, Degree-Seeking COEHD Major.
- Registered for at least one COEHD class.
- Good academic standing.
- No Banner Holds. (Must be resolved before you can schedule an appointment.)
CEL Check-Out Procedure
- Check-out is by appointment only and subject to approval.
- Appointments are arranged via email.
- Send requests to coehdlabs@utsa.edu and respond to the COEHD auto-reply email sent to your inbox.
- Students must meet all eligibility criteria in order to schedule an appointment.
- You will receive an e-mail confirmation before your appointment is valid.
- CEL appointments may take up to 30 minutes.
- UTSA ID and Driver's License.
- Proof of your current residence.
CEL Check-In Procedure
- Students are required to check in equipment no later than the designated due date.
- No appointment is needed to return the equipment.
- Students will grant lab staff 5-10 minutes to check in equipment.
- A receipt is provided. The receipt does not release the student of financial responsibility if damages are found.
- Equipment goes through inspection. It is expected to be returned in the condition it was received.
CEL Agreement Terms
- Eligible students will go through the process of signing several CEL agreement forms and each form is reviewed thoroughly.
- Damages will be noted under the student's name in CEL database as an infraction. Please keep in mind that having more than one policy infraction can affect your check-out eligibility and may result in the loss of all checkout privileges.
