Evidence-based Practices for Students with Autism

According to the Texas Council on Autism and Pervasive Developmental Disorders (2014), there are an estimated 130,000 Texans with ASD below 22 years of age. This year more than 50,000 students across Texas will receive special education programming under Autism eligibility. More than 50 years of research has made Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) the standard of care for addressing the needs of these students (BACB, 2014). For more information on the benefits of ABA for individuals with ASD, please click here.

Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) is a nationally-recognized credential offered by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB). RBTs work under the close supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, and are primarily responsible for the direct implementation of behavior-analytic services.
