Nearly half of the students attending The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) are first-generation students and there is a program that ensures they have a support system in place to reach their highest potential. The First to Go and Graduate initiative (F2G&G) is part of the PIVOT for Academic Success program at UTSA.

MAS professor authors book on schizophrenia

Dr. Josie Méndez-Negrete, professor in the Consortium for Social Transformation’s Mexican American Studies (MAS) program and the Department of Bicultural-Bilingual Studies, recently authored a book on her family’s experience with schizophrenia. The book was published in July of 2015 by the University of New Mexico Press.
