Jessenia Garcia, doctoral student in the Department of Counseling, was recently named a 2019 Fellow by Movement Mujeres, a joint initiative between the on-profit organization Deeds Not Words and the civic engagement organization Jolt.

Counseling Students awarded NBCC Fellowships

Helon Belton, Jennie Ho, and Mabel Diaz (L to R), Clinical Mental Health Counseling students, were recently awarded fellowships by the National Board for Certified Counselors Foundation (NBCCF), an affiliate of the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC). Created under NBCCF's Minority Fellowship program, the awards provide financial support to master’s- and doctoral-level counseling students who demonstrate a commitment to serving minority communities.

UTSA Symposium to Discuss Challenges, Opportunities for Area Schools

The UTSA Center for Educational Leadership, Policy and Professional Development in the College of Education and Human Development will host its inaugural educational symposium with discussion focusing on challenges and ooportunities in Bexar County schools. Represenatives from the community will participate in discussion centering on the topic "How Can This Community Use All Its Assets to Provide the Best Education for All Children in Bexar County?"
