The Academy for Teacher Excellence (ATE) in the College of Education and Human Development (COEHD) at The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) will be hosting an End of Year Celebration to honor día del niño (Day of the Child) on Saturday, April 30 from 8:30 – 11:30 a.m. at the UTSA Downtown campus.

This family oriented event is free and open to the public. The event will include hands-on demonstrations, cultural dance performances, scavenger hunts, and much more.

The purpose of this event is to show recognition for the hard work the students, parents, club sponsors, schools, and mentors have put into the success of the informal learning club and to celebrate the children.

Currently, ATE partners with 19 elementary and middle school campuses throughout San Antonio to host 26 informal learning clubs. The clubs include La Clase Mágica, Nepohualtzitzin Ethnomathematics, and Robotics clubs.

For more information about the event, visit the ATE website or contact the office at (210) 458-6170.
