The African American Studies program in the College of Education and Human Development recently hosted a lunch and learn featuring Dr. Edmund T. Gordon, vice provost for diversity and chair of the Department of African and African Diaspora Studies at The University of Texas at Austin. Gordon's keynote address was entitled "Black Studies and the Quest for Radical Autonomy."

The luncheon also included a special ceremony recognizing the program's graduating seniors: Dennise Frausto, Brandon Stark, Sydnee Garcia, Anikka Thompson, Christine Ogbonna, Charneshia Roberts, and Nicole Yancey. The seniors were presented with an African American Studies stole for them to wear during graduation.
