UTSA Professor Rosalind Horowitz honored for publication

(May 2, 2008)--Rosalind Horowitz, a professor in the UTSA College of Education and Human Development, recently traveled to New York City for the annual American Education Research Association Conference (AERA), where her edited publication, "Talking Texts: How Speech and Writing Interact in School Learning" (Routledge/Taylor and Francis), was honored at a special reception at the Marriott Marquis on Times Square.

The Department of Bicultural-Bilingual Studies has received nearly $700,000 from the estate of Dr. A

Dr. Arcadia Lopez passed away in January of 2007 at the age of 97. Her donation to BBL will be used to fund scholarships for students pursuing a degree in bilingual education.

UTSA’s Renee Da Silva receives prestigious Fulbright Award

Congratulations to our recent BBL Grad, Renee Da Silva, who was awarded a Fulbright to teach English in Spain. (Sept. 21, 2009)--UTSA student Renee A. Da Silva '06 '09 was awarded a Fulbright U.S. Student scholarship to Spain in Teaching English As A Foreign Language, the U.S. Department of State and J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board announced recently. Da Silva is one of more than 1,500 U.S. citizens traveling abroad for the 2009-2010 academic year through the Fulbright U.S. Student Program.

(August 5, 2008)--The UTSA College of Education and Human and Development’s Counseling graduate programs was recently granted accreditation by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP), the national accrediting arm of the American Counseling Association (ACA).

UTSA Collaborates with Cambodian Universities on Research, Teaching, Study Abroad

In an effort to extend global outreach, UTSA President Ricardo Romo signed agreements with two Cambodian universities, which will allow faculty and students from the three universities to collaborate in research, teaching and participation in study abroad programs.
