Dr. Vargas' research interests include coaching and athlete efficacy. Specifically, she is committed to improving efficacy beliefs for coaches and athletes through improved coaching education. To date, Dr. Vargas has worked to establish foundations for two main research lines. The first investigates coaches’ usage of the pre-game speech and resultant efficacy implications for athletes. The second focuses on coaches’ efficacy and ability to coach athletes with hidden disabilities. Both of these lines seek to bridge the gap between research and practice and will be used to establish coaching education curriculum and resources.Download Vita
