Masataka Umeda



Dr. Umeda completed his doctoral study in Exercise Psychology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He then completed his post-doctoral research in Clinical Neurophysiology at the University of Colorado-Denver Medical Campus. After serving at Texas Tech University as an Assistant Professor in Kinesiology, Dr. Umeda joined UTSA.

Dr. Umeda teaches Exercise Psychology and Foundations of Kinesiology. His research examines pain sensitivity in a variety of populations (individuals with chronic pain, individuals of racial/ethnic minorities, physically active and inactive individuals, etc.), and a role of physical activity in chronic pain and pain sensitivity.
