Presented by: Dr. Jennifer Carlson, assistant professor of sociology, University of Arizona


She will discuss her book “Citizen-Protectors: The Politics of Guns in an Age of Decline.” Her work focuses on the sociology of guns and gun culture. She will engage the audience in discussion about why millions of Americans (disproportionately men) are carrying guns as part of their everyday lives. What are the effects of gun carry on contemporary notions of citizenship, governance and crime?


The audience will have the opportunity to ask questions.
