Games in Makerspaces

Come learn about makerspaces and how to help students master TEKS objectives through game creation. Learn about design thinking, makerspaces, and game principles as you create your own game from objectives you bring to the workshop.


Session 1: 3D Printing & Augmented Reality

July 9 - 13, 2018
8:30 am - 4:00 pm

Session 1 will focus on creating games using 3-D Printing with (Tinkercad), augmented reality (HP Reveal), and hands on materials.


Session 2: Lego Mindstorms EV3, Scratch, & Gamestar Mechanic

July 16 - 20, 2018
8:30 am - 4:00 pm

Session 2 will focus on creating games through coding with Lego Mindstorms EV3, Scratch, and Gamestar Mechanic.


$500 each session (includes workshops and lunch)


CPE Hours:
Participants will earn 40 continuing professional education hours per session.


Sessions meet from 8:30-4:00 in person. One hour of online course work is completed outside of the class per day as well. MacBook laptops will be available to use during each session, but personal laptops are encouraged. All materials are available for use during the workshop.
