Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies

For the last 20 years, our focus has been to prepare individuals to become transformational leaders who can work effectively in diverse, ambiguous, and challenging educational environments, with a strong commitment to promoting equity, excellence, social justice, democracy, risk-taking, and responsiveness to community needs. We strive to support marginalized student populations, including but not limited to undocumented students, LGBTQA+ students, and students with diverse abilities, by creating an inclusive and welcoming learning environment that values diversity and provides equitable opportunities for all students to succeed. Our faculty is dedicated to developing collaborative and responsive relationships with local and external educational communities, and to promoting educational policies and practices that prioritize equity and social justice for all communities

Programs

We offer two master's degrees, a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership, and a Graduate Certificate in Higher Education Administration. We also prepare students for principal and superintendent certification.
