COEHD Learning Labs

Welcome to the College of Education & Human Development Learning Labs at The University of Texas at San Antonio!

The College is the leading provider of educators in the San Antonio area and one of the largest in the state of Texas.  We have two learning labs, located downtown and at main campus, specifically for COEHD students to work on their assignments on their own time.

Our Mission is to provide computing services and support to COEHD students and faculty.  While doing so, we will enhance the teaching and learning experience for students and faculty through technology, enabling them to acquire the skills and develop the knowledge essential for a profound academic experience.

COEHD Learning Labs provides many resources that include cutting-edge technology and certified MCAS master personnel at 1604 campus as well as the downtown campus.  We are dedicated and knowledgeable with hardware and software that will provide the assistance you need to accomplish your final outcome/result.  We are committed to assisting students with their research that addresses critical technological issues. We believe in the success of our students and strive to provide excellent customer service, cutting-edge technology (hardware/software) and a comfortable, productive experience.

  • Available software includes: Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, EndNote, Inspiration, SPSS, NVivo, Dreamweaver, Photoshop Elements, iWorks, Titanium, and iLife.
  • Students will have access to Mac or Windows operating system , the Internet and limited printing.
  • Students must be enrolled in at least one COEHD course during the current semester to log in to a computer. 
  • Students must follow lab policies and procedures.

COEHD Equipment Loaner Program (CEL) 


This service is exclusive to COEHD majors and each COEHD student must meet a set criteria in order to be eligible to check-out equipment.


a.) Must be a COEHD Undergrad (Junior/Senior), Grad, or PH.D student

b.) Declared, Degree-Seeking COEHD Major

  • Students must meet all eligibility criteria in order to schedule appointment.
  • You will receive an e-mail confirmation before your appointment is valid.
  • CEL appointment may take up to 30 minutes.

Other Resources:

Tomas Rivera Center: Sponsors academic success programs for various freshman populations. This includes undeclared and provisional students, as well as scholarship recipients. These programs seek to ease the transition from high school to college by providing academic advising. Academic Coaches are available for personal appointments to help students identify academic strengths and to assist students in building effective study skills. Information-packed workshops are offered that teach advanced techniques for studying. Program services are specialized for the needs of undergraduate and graduate UTSA students.

UTSA Writing Lab -Will assist you with writing assignments from ANY class you're taking here at UTSA. For example, we can help you with business writing, history papers, an economics essay, or a biology report, just as we can for a paper from your composition class.

UTSA Library

Graduate Student Learning Assistance- Our program assists UTSA graduate students in achieving academic success. We work with graduate students at all levels, including beginning students, international students, doctoral students, and those working on their thesis or dissertation. Since January 2006 we have provided assistance in four key areas: writing, research, professional, and academic excellence. We aim to develop well-rounded graduate students who are successful in their program, by providing workshops, resources, in-depth programs, and academic coaching.
