UTSA College of Education and Human Development (COEHD):  education.utsa.edu, Spectrum magazine and COEHDnews (weekly newsletter)


The College of Education and Human Development adheres to the privacy statement outlined by The University of Texas at San Antonio viewable at http://www.utsa.edu/policies/privacy.html

This privacy statement covers only the online website and publications maintained by the COEHD.


All information available from visits to our website or news subscriptions
will NEVER be shared with outside organizations or third parties 


As a rule, it is possible to use our website without entering your personal data. Personal data (e.g. name, address or E-Mail addresses) are collected on our pages as a means of contact or to subscribe to newsletters, and only done on a voluntary basis. Should you provide such data, it will not be passed on to third parties and will be used only for the services or contact that you request. 


The following statements describe the privacy practices for the COEHD:

    • We do not collect any personal information from our users without their consent
    • Subscribers must opt-in and give consent for their subscription for any publications
    • Visits are logged for aggregate statistics and diagnosis (analytics)
    • Demographic data (age, location, etc.) is not associated with an individual and is only retained for audience diagnosis
    • We make every effort to safeguard personal information and employ security settings to protect the misuse of sensitive information
    • No commercial advertisements or product endorsements may appear on our website or publication


Personal User Information

    • COEHD requires no user registration. Users are free to visit education.utsa.edu, and navigate all public pages.
    • UTSA COEHD Employees are required to register to obtain access to certain functions of the website.


Analytic Data

COEHD does compile visitor statistics such as how many people have visited our website, what type of technology they are using (e.g. Mac or Windows, which helps to identify when our site isn't working as it should for particular technologies), how long they spend on the site, what page they look at, etc.

This helps us to continuously improve our website. These analytics programs also tell us how people reached this site (e.g. from a search engine) and whether they have been here before helping us to put more money into developing our services for you instead of marketing spend.
